Cornell University has been selected as the New York State U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) University Center. The key aspect of this designation is project funding to assist communities in fostering higher-skill, higher-wage jobs and attracting private capital investment to the economic regions of New York State. The mission of the EDA is to help partners across the Nation create wealth and minimize poverty by promoting a favorable business involvement.
The selection of EDA University Center projects is based on the following premise: Research + Technology Transfer + Relationships + Resources = Regional Economic Development
Cornell’s EDA University Center funds projects both applied research and technical assistance projects in a variety of areas.
