Agriculture-Based Economic and Community Development
Agriculture-based economic and community development is the process of community planning, organizing and action to enhance the viability of local agriculture. In the last decade, a growing number of communities throughout the Northeast have become involved in AECD efforts. These efforts come in a variety of forms, but the defining feature of AECD is that it engages a cross-section of the community, not just farmers, in taking action on behalf of agriculture.
