Office of the Senior Associate Deans
Barbara A. Knuth, Ph.D. and Jan P. Nyrop, Ph.D. are the Senior Associate Deans. This office oversees faculty and department affairs, academic aspects of facilities and financial planning, sponsored research, and academic aspects of human resources. The Office of Academic Programs oversees the undergraduate teaching activities of the College. Units include Admissions, Registrar, Counseling and Advising, Multicultural and Diversity Programs, and Career Development. These pages explain the administrative structure of the office. Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is the outreach arm of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Human Ecology with a mission to serve New York State communities with a strong and responsive presence. Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station
The Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station facilitates a strong applied research program that addresses the issues of New York State as well as the mandates of the federal programs it administers through Cornell in its role as a land-grant institution. Office of Finance and Administration
The Office of Finance and Administration performs a wide variety of accounting, budget, audit and cash control functions associated with College funding; handles budget line management and financial reporting responsibilities; assists the College Financial Officer with administering all aspects of University fiscal policy and procedures; provides leadership and training in the implementation of new financial systems; and assumes responsibility for other administrative tasks in support of College Operations.
In addition, the office has oversight for the College's Business Service Center, Facilities and Operational Services (includes Occupational & Environmental Health), Office of Human Resources, and Information Technology functions.
The Business Service Center oversees financial operations of the College including: Pcard/e-SHOP transactions, accounts payable, travel reimbursements, journal processing, and cash management. Download organizational chart (PDF, 316 KB)
Facilities and Operational Services oversees/coordinates land use management, facility management, renovation, and construction for CALS facilities, including strategic planning, building operations, space planning, facilities inventory, budget development, resource projections, and project scheduling. The Office of Information Technology is composed of two major focus areas. Systems and Operations assists faculty and staff across five service zones with computer purchase, set-up, and troubleshooting. Administrative Computing develops information technology solutions and services through decision support systems and sophisticated financial and administrative information reporting systems.
New York State Agricultural Experiment Station
Cornell's New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, located in Geneva NY, is recognized internationally for research and extension on production, protection and processing of horticultural food crops.
